I live in the south where mosquito's are big, ugly and hungry. The minute I step outside I am under attack. What can I do because regular bug spray just ain't helping (even the ones with high deet). Also, once I am bitten, what can I do the stop the bite from itching?...besides scratching it ofcourse.
Thanks!

garlic supplements often make people unattractive to mosquitos, and is good for the heart. Once bitten, a nice warm soak in a bath using AVEENO colloidal oatmeal bath will soothe the itch.

I live in Florida and have worked outdoors most of my life. I have found that if you don't eat bananas and eat raw garlic, mosquitoes won't come after you as much. I keep a piece of garlic in my mouth while I'm outside and bite it occasionally to saturate my blood with it. I also wear long sleeves and long pants outdoors. Mosquitoes don't like the sun, so stay out of shady areas. Avon Skin So Soft does really well, but it's very oily. I would never use any insect repellent that contains "deet". I believe it's toxic to humans and animals.

Skin so soft is amazing as a mosquito repellant. A dab of ammonia on the bite will draw the fluid to the surface and stop the bodies reaction to it.

Bleach also works but will discolor any hair in the area.

Well use "Off" it works for me and i live in the caribbean which is practically infested with mosquitoes... if you've tried that then rub some alcohol it's supposed to repel them. And after they bite put some alcohol as well... so the itching stops. Hope this helps!=)

Take Benadryl. The bites itch because it's an allergic reaction, so taking allergy medicine will help.

An older lady I know told me to used a unused Bounce Dryer sheet and rub it onto my skin and clothes and it worked. I live in Florida and it works great for me and my daughter. We rarely get bitten.

Well to prevent mosquito bites put repellent on. If you already have them, my little sister used to put deodorant on the bite to prevent swelling. Try it, it worked for her.
