Yeah, making a joke about it is good. I just saw a story on Untold Stories of the ER about a girl who had had the hiccups for 8 days. They tried all kinds of things, but what finally worked was gently pressing on the temples - had something to do with a nerve. A couple of days later, I got the hiccups & tried it and it worked. I've only had them once since I've seen that ep, so it may be a coincidence. Give it a try.

I always hold my breath as long as I can without it being apparent and hope that they go away. A few times of holding my breath and they usually go away.
