It was probably about an hour ago, and she seems to be okay so far.

A few M&Ms killed my pug.. You should call the vet to let her/him know, as much depends on the size and breed..Meanwhile, give him a lot of something he really likes to slow down the digestion of the chocolate..

Chocolate can be very hit or miss. Somebody said a few M&Ms killed their dog, my dog was lucky, it once broke into my kitchen cupboard and scoffed its way through over 800g of cadbury's dairy milk chocolate that I'd bought for a friend for christmas and suffered no side effects. The best thing to do is seek advise from a qualified vet. Keep a close eye on your dog, and if it shows any signs of illness- vomiting, diarrohea, siezures etc get it seen by a vet immedietly.

Dogs crave chocolate they have a wicked sweet tooth. Ive seen dogs eat MILK choocolate and be ok. If it was DARK chcocolate get your pooch to the vet NOW.
If it was milk chocolate just keep an eye on her/him you can call your vet and ask what they think it will depend on the size and weight of the dog as well as the size of the chocolate bar. my neighbor actually gives his dog 1 butterfinger a week as a snack. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS.

How big is the dog?
Generally, an ounce of chocolate per pound of dog is dangerous. That's dark chocolate. Milk chocolate is less dangerous and semisweet and bitter sweet are more dangerous.
White chocolate doesn't contain the toxic chemicals.

Chances are she's fine. She's probably going to have diarrhea.

I would phone the vet just to let them know
But, I wouldn't worry too much. Last Easter my in-laws dog ate a huge chocolate bunny and he just got the runs from it

It has a substance called theobromine in it, which causes increased urination and also causes problems with the central nervous system. Dogs can eat only 1oz per pound of body weight of milk chocolate and be ok...while bakers chocolate they can only eat 1oz per 10lbs of body weight...If your dog does eat chocolate he can become overexcited, hyperactivity, vomitting and diarrhea...In severe cases it can cause hypothermia, muscle tremors, seizures, and sometimes death. White chocolate is the least worrysome of all of the chocolates while baker's chocolate is the worst.

it depends on how big the dog is and how big the chocolate bar was. i wouldnt worry about it unless your dog gets sick. chocolate is bad for dogs but just one wont kill it. i doubt you are feeding it chocolate for breakfast lunch and dinner everday. you should have nothing to worry about. if it would make you feel better CALL the vet. they cant charge you for a phone call. :)

I don't think your dog is going to be sick or in any physical danger, but you might want to call the vet just to let them know and to get their input on whether or not you need to get your dog checked out.
Hope this helped!
