1st John 4:7 & 8 teaches that if we do not love one another (believers), then we do not know God. However, I have met a few over-zealous new-believers (some who have since grown out of this) who 'hate' non-believers because of their offenses to God. I believe that to definitively understand 'hate' one must have a definitive understanding of love, and that comes only in time when walking with the Lord.
Of course, this would be in the shadow of evidence of repentance from sin and the presence of Spiritual fruit. If these things are lacking as well, then their Christianity is definitely suspect. I try to avoid juding men's hearts, though, and limit my judgment to the fruits of their lives.

Well I think people misunderstand and over use the word hate. It is not the opposite of love. Correctly speaking antipathy is a better word for the EXACT opposite of love. Hate implies that there is emotion involved. I would not say I hate someone but I would say that I care little enough about someone to give them a thought. Still neither is Christian or Christ -like. Jesus says to love your enemy as well as your neighbor and you shall be the children of the Highest. And he continues with for the same measure that you mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

well this is a tricky question in a perfect totally Christan world no one would hate anyone. But most people who are "in the world" and not truthfully following the word do hate people. even true Christians who live the life that Christ wants them too dislike people. You can not be forgiven or give forgiveness unless they ask for forgiveness and as long as you don't ask for it. We as Christians ask forgiveness for our sins why shouldn't we ask for forgiveness from people also

That happens a lot. I'm not sure about the "true" part but people are human and Christians are not perfect. I think people expect so much of Christians and expect them to be perfect, not realizing that some do have issues that need to be worked out between them and God.

Well, they may be a true Christian - they may have accepted Jesus and really love Him. It is possible to make mistakes.
But that would be a pretty big mistake, since Jesus said that loving God and loving your neighbour are the two greatest commandments - and by neighbour he meant "everyone".
I hated someone once, and it was the most awful feeling. I realized eventually that I had to forgive her and pray for her, because hate just felt so wrong.

One of The True Christian Faith should not hate any individual. That is against the teaching of our Lord and Master.
The word hate has come to such a place in the speach of so many that it is often uttered without thinking... one of The Faith should strive to eliminate that kind of automatic responce.
There is no such thing as a perfect Christian... we all slip up from time to time... but we should continue to try not to...

A "true christian" is someone who believes the myth of jeebus and claims to "walk in jeebus footsteps".
Martin Luther King Jr. was a "true christian".
Adolf Hitler was a "true christian".
Nothing says that King Jr. and Hitler have to agree with each other. All that's required is that christians admit to the facts.
Additional:
Like I said, the christians don't like dealing with the facts. Some christianazis were so distraught by the truth that they took their thumbs out of their butts long enough to click "thumbs down" to my answer.
Being religious doesn't make you moral. If anyone "thinks" it does, they had better explain these christians: the KKK, the Nazis, Dennis Rader (the BTK serial killer), Lizzie Borden, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Mark Foley.

No because Christian means to be Christ-like. If we are like Christ then we love everyone to the point that we would lay down our own life for that person. When we become a Christian we put away our selfish ways and let Christ shine through us.

True Christians can get into unforgiveness too. It feels like hell though.
If they were a true Christian would depend on if they have been born of God or a child of God. If true child of God says he hates others, then God will discipline.
