Well being a mom, the one thing I can tell you is you want them to find out by you telling them not by hearing it threw the grape vine. I also don't understand your families rules on dating, you didn't give any details so I can't say much else. Honesty is always best and your parents need to realize you are going to do it either in front of them or behind their backs. I personally would rather it be in front of me. I want to meet the boy, see them together, have him spend time with us.

I'm not going to assume that you're sexually active with your boyfriend and he's not visiting while your parents away... they will view you totally different than they do now and they will never accept your boyfriend.

If they ever find out those three things: (1) you have a boyfriend without telling them; (2) you were having sex; (3) he was at the house without their knowledge... the relationship you have with your parents is going to change for the worse.

You've violated their trust and violated the respect for their home.

It doesn't matter if you tell them now or three weeks later--their reaction is still going to be the same. What makes you think that just because you turn 18 they're going to be less protective and celebrate the fact that you have a bf? Not going to happen, sister. Just tell them right now and expect the worst.

Well........17 is almost adult age to marry in these parts.....I would say that you might like to ask your parents if you can invite your friend "Bob" over for dinner and if yes then have at it.....and try to relax.........if questioned about sex then I guess you let your conscience be your guide! Or you and "Bob" can invite your parents out to eat and tell them there is someone you would like them to meet! Good Luck!

I think you must be a baby if you lie to your parents and sneak around with your boyfriend.

if he is a good guy then why worry about it you should be happy for both of you, and your parents (if they love you) should understand that if you love him and want to be with him then they shouldnt have a problem with it
