The metro (proper) does not go to either of the airports but the RER, which connects to the metro, does. You can take it from Charles De Gualle to Chatelet Les Halles, which is pretty much the center of Paris. You can also take one from Orly to the same station but have to get on train or bus at Orly to get you to the line that takes you into Paris.

There are also buses that take you from both airports into Paris, however not as central as the train.

Try the link below for an interactive map of the train lines of Paris and it's surroundings.

The main airport is Charles de Gaulle, which is not on the metro, but is accessible by bus. I believe that you can buy a travel card covering bus, train and metro services, called Paris Visite. Here are some details:

Paris Visite is a pass to discover Paris and its region.

The user's name must be written on the pass (no photo necessary). Each coupon is valid for either a 1, 2, 3 or 5 day period (calendar days and not a 24 hour period) of your choice: 1-3, 1-5, 1-8 zones.

The whole journey is regardless of the first utilisation of the pass.

With the Paris Visite pass travel freely within the zone area of your choice.

This pass offers a reduced rate for children between 4 and 11 years of age.

This pass is on sale in all metro, RER and SNCF stations, the Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports and in certain Parisian hotels and many tour operators abroad.

Before utilisation, write your name on the card and copy the coupon number on the card, also the pass expiration date.

The metro doesn't connect to any of the airports. You have to take the RER and then transfer. There are buses from both airports (known as Roissy bus). It's about 5 euros one way to the center of Paris.

You would take the RER, which is a suburban train and takes you stright into Paris and from there you can connect to the metro/bus system. I did it just a year ago and it's really easy.
