HELP!!!

One of Symantec's support sites tells me I need to uninstall and reinstall my Norton Internet Security 2006 - making use of their uninstall utilities. There are a couple of them and NEITHER work, - whether run online or downloaded to my computer. I keep getting errors with them and am constantly asked to send an error message to Microsoft (very irritating).

Does anyone know where I can find instructions to do it the "manual" way? I've wasted enough time trying to uninstall this piece of Symantec sh_t.

I have found instructions for previous years, but I need the 2006 version. I am comfortable in editing registries etc. so don't worry about those warnings.

Re-installing doesn't work. The Symantec Removal Utility doesn't work.

I need a "Manual" method of deleting this program! Please don't direct me to one of the utilities I have already tried... Tx

The uninstall utilities that come with Norton are crap (kinda like the program itself, but that's another story). You should probably use the Norton Removal Utility located here:

I would have suggested the removal tool it has always done a great job removing Norton for me, but seeing that you have already tried that I am not to sure. Try running the removal tool in safe mode. Also are you sure you downloaded the right one? Their is one for XP/2000 and their is another one for Windows 9x/ME.
