your body needs a certain amount of calories just to function normally during the day. so most of the food you eat goes toward supporting your body weight. most people need more than 1200 calories a day just to function normally. the way you're eating now will make you lose weight, because you're not eating nearly enough calories. it's also extremely unhealthy, you're on your way to an eating disorder. so i would suggest that you eat just 200 calories less than you're supposed to daily, and work out for about 45 minutes.

yes. although you do burn more than 250 calories in a day even if you only burn 250 calories at the gym - i hope that made sense.

basically, eat around 1200 calories per day, not 400. you will probably lose weight with a 1200 cal/day diet, give-or take, depending on your body type.

No, you are not understanding this correctly. Your body needs a set amount of calories daily just to function. You burn calories just from breathing, sleeping, walking around, doing everyday things. This is usually a minimum amount of around 1,200 calories that you must consume just to stay alive. 400 calories per day is not even enough to function normally, and if you carry on at this rate, you will make yourself very ill indeed. All you are doing is burning off muscle and your fat is being stored, because your body goes into starvation mode, when you don't eat enough calories. So with the calories you burn on the treadmill, you should be consuming at least 1,450 calories per day or roundabout, not 400 calories per day! I hope this is making sense to you. HTH.

everybody has their own set points , just an average person may have a set point of lets say 1500 calories , and this is what they burn every day(24 hours) just for breathing-sleeping-sitting and as long as they only eat 1500c. they will stay the same , now if they change any of the variables , you will gain or lose .. by adding exercise you will increase your set points , however if you decrease your caloric intake you might slow your metabolism and lower your set point and actually gain weight while dieting , eat right and exercise is the only to lose weight and "keep it off" , and there are no magic pills

Yes

You burn more calories than just your time on the treadmill. Your body is constantly burning calories breathing, walking around the house, having sex, etc. It's hard to add up how many you'll burn in a day. If you exercise regularly and eat healthy, you'll lose weight.

First of all you are not supposed to eat 400 calories, you are supposed to eat 1200 or above daily, then you can burn it, but dont try to rush things dont try to burn 600 each day, you should rest in between excersice.

It takes 3500 calories to make one pound of fat..so If you eat 400 and burn 250 of them then you have 110 calories left over to just sit there and do nothing, unless you burn them too!
