I have to agree with saimihaim...
I am about to go on my 3rd deployment out of 5 years in the AF so saying that the AF is the safe option is just a stupid answer...but then again everyone know individuals in the Army arent he brightest....hahaha....j/k....kinda
As for your question usually active duty deploy the most but guard and reserve arent far behind....your safest option if you want to go into the Army would be Guard cause then you have the option of dealing with details stateside as well such as working airports which may help you with not deploying....
Either way if you sign the paper then you will be sitting in a sand storm sooner or later...

Try the Coast Guard reserves. The Coast Guard has the most active peacetime mission and indeed may be called to the War...but only under rare circumstances. Plus since its the reserves you would only be called in under even rarer conditions. Its still possible though. More likely you would be fighting domestic problems like drug dealers and such. It also has to do with the job you choose in the military. Don't join the Marines unless you really want to go to Iraq, and Iran next year.

the Army is a "branch", like the Air Force, Navy, and Marines are a "branch", if your asking what MOS (jobs) in the Army do not go, all have a chance at being there.

I'm not an expert, but I think all Army units are likely to go to Iraq. You could try the Air Force or Navy. Go to a recruiting center and talk to all the recruiters.

once you join any military branch, you forfeit the right to choose your deployment.
all branches are involved in Iraq except, that is, those who are deployed to Afghanistan...

All of them have a chance to go and be deployed, anywhere.
The question Is why wouldn't you want to fight for your country?? I think everyone should at on point or another want to help out our country..
