I want to start exercising again to lose about 30 pounds. The gym I belong to offers Hatha yoga classes, which I'm thinking about doing in addition to cardio workouts. What are the physical fitness benefits of yoga and would it be worth my time in aiding with my weight loss?? What sort of physical / outward appearance results will I see by doing yoga?

You won't see any physical appearance results from yoga, however you will from the cardio. And Yoga is a perfect balance, or preventative for your cardio. You'll have fewer injuries and a more developed core, which can carry you more easily throughout a routine, versus getting tired and giving up.

I recommend. And whenever I do yoga, I feel great!
