Yes, Pilates does work. As with all exercise programs you have to continue with the workout and be on a healthy diet. If you are looking for a weight loss program that also gives you that long and lean look, pilates is for you. I was at a size 18 and took up pilates. Now 3 months later I'm at a size 10. The first thing I noticed was my stomach getting flatter and that's because most of the exercises you do use your "core" muscles, which is your stomach. When you first start don't overdo yourself or you may not want to do it again. Work your way up. You will definitely feel the burn after the first time. Eventually you'll be able to do it while watching TV, talking on the phone, or reading a book. When buying a DVD look for ones that have at least 4 different sessions. One for your core, another for arms, one for hips and thighs and the most important, total body workout. Its the only exercises program that worked for me. Good luck!

Yes I feel and every one sees Pilates works for me. I had bought a dvd to do it at home, and it went pretty well, but I must say if it is your first sports in this kind, it would be best to have some lessons with a trainer who can correct your movements, before you try at home by yourself. Because it is all about the details, a straight back doesn't always feel straight to you.(it may feel like it is still hollow, or arched too far, while in reality it is really straight) Pilates has to be done correctly before it works. You will enjoy it for sure, succes!

I recommend you go to half.com and buy a used video for more than half the regular price. Most people that are thinking of taking up a new exercise never stick with it, and as a result, have a DVD they never watch anymore. In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people buy the pilates DVD, watch it once, and never again... so that means there's thousands of DVDs on half.com just ready to sell at extremely low prices... as low as 75 cents!

Yes..its so easy. and you thinik..now how is this really going to work because its so easy but IT DOES. It teaches you how to isolate your muscles while making the exercise moves and one week later you are thinking...Man, I could of been doing this all along....and you know what..

IT SO EASY!
