Religon is based off of culture. Culture may develop alongside religon, but it is culture that causes the issues in the world.

For example, look at how the middle east treats women. Like objects. Can't drive, can't vote, can't go out in public without a male escort. These are cultural beliefs that happen to have evolved with the muslim religon.

If religon went away, the culture would still remain. So, really, if religon was gone, nothing would really change.

Since we all could still have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ without religion and love our neighbor, I'm all in favor of that.

But it must be free. Romania and lots of other countries tried to outlaw religion and it did not turn out so well.

I like John Lennon's Imagine:

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Why the sky? Vanish in the dust. I like that better. I think evolution will take care of religions.
Nothing wrong with gatherings. Maybe we'll have 'Clicks' - meetings of like minded people. Maybe 'church' will mean spiritual awakenings and community projects without so much dogma??

Some twit would invent a religion to explain why all the other religions had vanished and we'd be right back where we started.

There would be no more religious leaders infuriating their faith followers with lies. No more virgins for those who give their lives in the name of martyrdom. No more injustices in the name of religion. But, I must add that we will lose many good thing too, like all the charities out there helping the needy, etc etc etc in the name of God.
