I fell over a metal post lying in the road and hurt my toes very badly about two and a half months ago. They were very swollen and bruised but this subsided. I still get sharp stabbing pains in the affected toes. Is this normal in the healing process?

Same thing kind of happend to me. I was home cooking and the smoke alarm went off. After turning off the stove, I got in a chair to stop the alarm. When I jumped off the chair my foot turned and I landed on the top of my foot. It swelled about twice its size and was blue and purple for weeks. It's been about a year now and I still have some pains and its a lot easier to twist my foot and it'll crackle and pop.
Didn't mean to carry on but I think you probably broke your toes. I didn't go to a doctor either but now we'll both probably have pain and arthratis in it. Sucks...
Yep, the pain is normal. I also broke my arm, which I did see a doc for, and it still hurts - 7 yrs later!

as a very accident prone person i can relate to this. If you did break your toes, and did not get treatment, it may be that they have healed badly and thats whats causing the bother. Broken toes should be strapped to the neighbouring toes for support, no casts for them. Could it be that you broke a bone in your foot that you are not aware off and thats whats causing the pain. Best idea is to go get it checked out at the local gp. They should be able to give the correct info, broken toes should have healed by now. Or be like me go about in pain with broken fingers for 2 weeks then see about it then get hell.from the doctor!

extremely, there is totally no longer some thing you may want to do for a damaged toe. yet it truly is okay. A damaged toe is not any large deal. in case you extremely opt for, you could take some athletic tape and bind your large toe with the toe next to it - that way, you inspire the toe to keep in alignment. maximum probable it's going to do this besides, yet I understand the prefer to do some thing. except that, the perfect suggestion is to only take it effortless - circumvent kicking issues, stubbing your toe, or dropping some thing on your foot ;) possibly at the same time as it hurts after a lengthy prepare, only ice it down and take an ibuprofen. regularly damaged feet only take a week or 2 to heal. good success and only recognize - the perfect suggestion extremely is to keep it effortless

Yeah, it sounds like you had a nasty soft tissue injury. Unfortunately without adequate rest these injuries can take a couple of months to fully heal. As you have no doubt continued to go about your everyday living you have probably not allowed adequate time for healing of the the tissues around the injury. I advise rest when you can and taking some ibuprofen 400mg three times a day ( if you are not asthmatic) and some regular paracetamol 1g (2tablets) 4 times a day may help

Did the pain bring tears to your eyes and make you feel sick? Then you broke your toes. Nothing you can do. The pain will go away eventually but the wonkiness won't.

a simple test to see if anything is broken is to place an ice cube on the toe if it is really painful then it is broken

My X-ray vision is restricted to looking through clothes. See a doctor.
