I am trying to modify the start page in the registry file .. it will not allow me to alter it?

I typed in regedit at the start, run hit enter the registry comes up and then go to hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\internet explorer\Main .... the start page cannot be modified .. how do I do this ... thank you ....

Hi. It's a lot safer to do this from your browser. Regedit can be dangerous because a typo can bite you hard. On the other hand, unless that particular key is locked somehow, it should work.

Follow up. I tried and was successful in changing the start page. I did a regedit search on "start".
