Yes He did and no I don't. Those who are dead in Christ are clothed in His righteousness alone, faultless.

Your concept that God "dwells within you as you" is false teaching with no standing in the Word of God. God's spirit still strives with man but knowing God is one thing; being know of Him another.

Every man was born with the potential to express God in a unique way and we were all put here to show forth His glory. Still it is the will of the potter, and not the clay, which determines the expression of that which was formed.

You cannot live out the life of Christ until you have it. Eternal life does not dwell in any man who has not taken part in His death. The life of Christ, that is eternal life, does not come prepackaged as you are giving some to expect.

Perfection is both taught and expected but cannot be attained in the flesh. You don't try, you die. As St. Paul said, "I die daily." It is only as we die that the perfect life of Christ can work in us. Without that perfection we remain apart from God with heads full of theological nonsense..

Well, I think it's always best to strive for perfection. We know that no one will ever reach perfection before dying, but I think Jesus meant that we should always try to become as perfect as we can... as perfect as we'll allow Him to make us.
Of course, I always have periods of time when I'm not trying so hard, and I realize that things would be much better if I would just seek the Lord in all things, and try to do His will.

Oh yes. Every night, me and my mate Chalky down at the Horse & Ferret pub try to attain perfection in downing as many pints of best bitter as we can. It's hard some times, and a pint of the old down and dirty can sometimes take the skin off your throat, but we dont mind the sacrafice. Whos round is it?

Yes I try, but being human I frequently fall short. However, once I am aware of my shortcomings. I do try not to repeat that behavior again. Especially if it causes hurt to someone close to me. I doubt we will ever attain perfection here on earth. We do strive for it through the grace of God.

I thought that was Buddha? The very nature of Christianity and Jesus makes it pointless to even attempt to attain perfection because mankind is inherently flawed and prone to sin (Garden of Eden) and therefore Christ died on the Cross.

Jesus never taught that we should be perfect. Thats were love and forgiveness come in. We can never be perfect. Jesus was the only on perfect. But he died so that we could be forgiven.

Jesus taught that we should strive for perfection,. He knew, however, that this was impossible for anyone to achieve, which is why he offered himself up as a sacrifice for our sins, so that we could be saved short of perfection.

Perfection is impossible and even Jesus was not perfect (whether he was the son of God or not).
