Here's the scenario: I told a guy that I liked him and he turned around and told someone that it doesn't matter whether he likes me or not, I'm too young. We're 3 years apart in age.

I am 14 and he's 17. How are you supposed to tell your maturity level? Everyone says they think I'm a junior when they meet me....... I'm just confused about this whole thing!!!

Don't even waste your time.
1st if he does like you - he probably won't date you because his friends will make a big deal out of it - it's different if you were 20 & 23.
2nd enjoy being 14 - most boys that age don't know how to really treat a girl right. Spend time with your friends & wait to find a real man when your in your 20's - even then it will be hard to find a good one.

If you're 12 and he's 15, well, he's right--age matters. If you're 18 and he's 21 it shouldn't matter. Perhaps by telling him you like him gave him a scare. Remember, girls and women are a lot more mature than boys and men (except for me).

If he's not comfortable with the age difference, then he's made himself clear that he doesn't want to like you. So, even if he really does, it will pose problems throughout the relationship. Shake it off and move onto someone else!
