would you still pray or have a thought for the Amish community today while they are dealing with the unspeakable horror that crashed into their lives today?

I will pray for them.

I looked upon the heavens today and ponder whats going on with humanity. Even the innocent and self sufficient society of the Amish is hurt. May we all respect each other... in religion, culture, and as human beings. My thoughts are with them.

Of course they're in my thoughts. I live only a few minutes from an Amish community, and I know them to be very gentle, kind and good people. I can't imagine the horrors they are going through, and my heart goes out to the victims, their families and friends.

On a related note, in May of '85 143 tornadoes went through the tri-state area, with an F-5 completely leveling a town near me. For the next few weeks, it was the Amish from a neighboring state who assisted with the clean up and helped to rebuild homes. They asked nothing in return They are good people who should never have had to experience the violence of today.

My thoughts are with them.

Edit: I'm atheist, and I agree with the additional statement you've posted.

Yes absolutely! They need all of the positive energy we can send! It's a sad thing that will have lasting effects on the entire community. I feel so sad for all the family's who lost one of their precious children.

I do not believe in the power of prayer and remain suspicious as to why this is aimed at non-religious and requesting a prayer.

I sympathize with the family members who have lost their loved ones. No one deserves to lose a child. May they find comfort amongst their friends and family.

It is so very sad, because the Amish are pretty much a live and let live kind of people.

I will bring this to others and we will all be praying. So often we don't realize how good we are having it.In the name of Jesus help these your children to over come this sorrow of which You are well acquainted with after the death of Your Own Son.May they to take part in His resurrection.Amen

Of course...I thnk it is so sad how we have to be so afraid to just send our children to school. All we can do is pray and put it in a higher powers hands, whether thats God, goddess or god, Allah, Buddah, etc.....
