My son just turned 4 and is constantly worried about his hair. He is not feminine, he plays with trucks and toy guns. However, last night my son came out of his room with a hankerchief(or unrooled do-rag) on his head and stated it was there to help his hair lay down. My husband says that this is my doing, cause I'm always freaking over my hair. My son just turned 4 and has never saw me with a hankerchief on.Would it worry you?

do you obsess over his hair? do you get really picky when hes getting it cut? kids that age pick up on that crap...parents tend to freak when their baby's hair is not perfect like they are going to be in a beauty contest or going on a date...its sad.....if he keeps obsessing I would personally get him a buzz cut so he can find something else to focus on...especially if he has bad cowlicks

Try a #4 on top and a #1 OR #2 on the sides...you will still be able to put gel in it for a spiky look but the cowlicks will not be visible, so there will be no Alfalfa'ness

Come on, it sounds really cute for a 4 year old! You shouldn't be worried about something so trivial! He probably picked it up from TV. Little kids tend to mimic things. he may not even know what it means to keep your hair down!

Sounds like your little boy is headed for SissyMary Town or worse. I agree with your husband, it's your fault because he probably watches you constantly swooshing your hair. However, your hubby needs to put his beer down a minute and learn the boy to be a man. Do you want your boy to be a fruity? Stop this now!!! Give the kid a buzzcut if he doesn't stop with this madness.

Don't worry, if he didn't learn it from you he did from somebody. Alot of guys wear those to help the hair stay flat. He might of even asked some one why they have that on their head, so he's just trying to copy that person thinking that it's cool.
