do you mean procedure?? do you want to know what they do when they put a crown on your tooth? if so, the numb your mouth and clean the tooth, then they put the crown on...pretty easy procedure actually.

you'll be made numb ( you wont feel a thing)
then an impression is taken of your tooth so that at the end they can place a temp crown ( which will look exactly the same as when you sat in the chair), you'll have upper and lower impressions were ever the tooth is, so the lab see how your teeth bite together.
the tooth will be prepped for the crown
around2/3mm all the way round the tooth and the biting surface
a further impression is taken for the lab to make the crown
A temporary crown with be cemented in with a temporary cement
A lab usually needs two weeks to make you crown,
Thats when you come back and its cemented in, at this appointment you may need to be "numbed up again" depends if you would find it too sensitive.
First visit could take up to an hour or as little as 1/2 an hour
The second appointment could take 20 to 30 mins.

It depends what type of crown you get. The two dentists above are talking about permanent crowns typically used on adult teeth. You remove 1-2mm of the tooth on all surfaces, take an impression and a lab makes your crown and you get it cemented on. This can take two appointments. However there are also stainless steel crowns (prefabricated) that are mostly used on baby teeth but sometimes on adult teeth. These do require some grinding on the teeth but no impression is taken and these only take an appointment to finish.

First you get numb. Then the dentist will remove the outer 1-to-2 mm of your tooth, which basically amounts to removing the enamel layer. Then he/she will take an impression so the crown can be made for you in the dental lab. You will get a temporary crown and 203 weeks later, you will get the real crown glued into place.

Well first the dentist will have to build up the tooth, then you get a temporary crown. Then they make a mold of your tooth and order the actual crown. Then you go back for prep. When they prep your tooth they will push your gums down to make room for the crown to be put on. Then you go back again and get the actual crown put on. And just a heads up... I hate dentists but when I went to get this done I was so worried about pain, and their was NONE. So don't worry =)

You will probably need a few different visits, first to prepare the 'model' of the crown, and then later to implant that. And if there is a root canal involved, you can add a few on top of that.
