both. and they are chumpy idiots who are eager to die to make Dick Cheney fat and rich. plus they're psychotic and love the idea of killing other humans. you have to be both a fool and a nut job to want to join the military in this day and age.

joeceele... It affects them mentally and takes away their ability to adapt to normal society.
What the hell is that?
I'm in the military and I adapt pretty well. We are not crazy nor are we insane. We are the same as everyone else - we just hold higher standards and work a different job. Someone here needs to get a clue.

For the most part they're just people. Many are trying to fund their educations by serving in the military. There are some violent types who just like to blow things up and, for whatever reason, believe it is a good thing to blindly take orders. But to suggest that they are all "crazy or insane" is crazy, or insane.

No they are neither, they are better than most men and women who never served in the military. These are the people who care what could happen to our country, and they are there to make sure we still have a place to live and we can do the things that we want to in life on a daily basis.
Everyone should salute a veteran and thank them for what you have today.

As a veteran, I assume I am biased. Many have sacrificed much more than I for the freedoms we enjoy today. Of course, the military has a different code of honor. I humbly suggest that presently you are enjoying the fruits of their endeavors. Remember that in out nation the politicians make the decisions, the military's role is to carry out those plans.

I'm sure there is a small % just as there would be in any large Corporation. But on the whole they are very logical people who see things as it is. Some of the most brilliant people I have ever met were in the military, and I've been very fortunate in meetings many people in high level jobs.

I don't think they are all crazy....granted have have a couple of friends who are marines and they are a little nuts but they were that way before the signed up. There is a fine line between what people would call brave and what others would call crazy. I think to do what they do takes a special kind of person and not every is that kind of person.

The military can be a very good life. I was raised in the AF and didn't mind it at all. It was rather interesting and fun.
It is not for everybody however... after being raised in it, I served my 4 years and got out.
I still enjoy visiting bases and talking to military members.
My only complaint is those on active duty, having to put up with the crap dished out by many civilians.

No military people make a commitment to thier country many beleive in but few commit to. They are dedicated, corageous and are often times the only thing that stands betwen our way of life and losing it.....they do not have mental problems any more than any other american does......they are to be deeply thanked for thier sacrifice .

still don't know why james is penis envy but positively do about bearable....check out the profile. anyways we are an elite force recognized from birth...just kidding.... I think you have to be confident with a desire to do what is needed to preserve our way of life in america to join and then it gets better. hmmm bearable I scored a 1560 on my SAT's, have a degree in nursing and have an active pilots license... think I am an exception or is just b/c you were rejected due to your situation or is it that you don't value why you are here in a free country with the freedom to be who you are and with this freedom that our forefathers fought for that you are so hypersensitive about our "skills" most military people that I know and have had the pleasure to come in contact with would love to know that we are stupid (per you). Maybe people like you don't belong in my country... but that is not my place just and opinion. And, oh yeah opie you are a tard
