(This is actually a serious question.) I have about a dozen or so of these bright red bumps that are insanely itchy!! They look almost like bug bites but if I go to scratch them, they burn. I've tried, hydrocortisone cream, antihistamines, homeopaths, peppermint oil, lotions...NOTHING seems to work.

Oh, if it matters any, they are located underneath, and in between my boobs. Wearing a bra is MISERABLE. This has been going on for 4 LOOOONNNNGG days.

Thanks for your help!!

Uhh Yeah. Like going to the Dr didn't cross my mind. It's an automatic $60 just to have some pervert look at my boobs and say they don't have a clue what's wrong, write me a script that will cost me $50, and I will STILL be itching!!!

Thanks for the answers. It wasn't a fungal infection (had one before, know what it is). It's not heat rash (had it before and this is NOT heat rash). Clogged pores cause red bumps but they don't itch to the point of insanity.

I had heard about chiggers so I tried the nail polish remedy as a last resort. Within 30 min, the itching stopped. Now I just have a very mild rash from a reaction to the nail polish. :\

Chiggers was NOT at all something I'd expect since I live in an area that has never had chiggers. What else could it have been though?? At least the nail polish worked. :)

This sounds like heat rash. What happens is that sweat tries to escape your body through your sweat glands (pores in your skin), but because of too tight clothing or another obstruction, the sweat cannot get out and instead the pores get swollen, red, and itch. Keep the affected area DRY- DO NOT use lotions, creams, or anything else as you will just clog the pores even more. Give it a few days of "fresh air" and dryness, and it will eventually go away. I had this once, and it really does itch bad- so bad I lost sleep for a few nights. But eventually you'll have relief if you're careful to keep the area dry. I'd consider changing the bra that did this to you- get properly fitted, cause you may have grown into a bigger size.

Amended below

OK, I know exactly what you are talking about, but have NO idea what it is. My gf has this same thing and has had it for a month after taking special baths, using hydrocortizone, etc. She went the doctor and they didnt know what it is. It gets worse from here......the initial bumps went away, then spread a bit down toward her belly button. I am so amazed I happened upon your question. Here is the absolute best remedy (although it will not completely solve the problem). Valtrex is a medication for herpes, however so many people take it for other things, most notably woman who deliver babies and get bad cold sores in the hospital. My gf borrowed a prescription from my neighbor and most of the bumps are going away and fading, but she just found a few more new ones.........There is, however a ton of relief....a fraction of what she once had. Get Valtrex and please keep in touch, so maybe you can help us out if you learn anything new. THanks and good luck

I just read some of the other respondants and Gold Bond did not work for my girlfriend. Aveeno Oatmeal baths helped the most, but only gave relief for an hour or two. One thing that someone said above seems to be so true.....this was sweat related for my gf. It started going for a run in a sports bra. Two things to consider...my gf has an allergy to latex, which can be found in bras and you may have an allergy too. The second thing to consider is that this could be shingles. We researched it and many pictures look the same as her rash....some pictures almost looked like bloody sores, but others just look like what you are talking about.

It sounds like a heat rash, which is more of a skin irritation than anything. It's like the area feels itchy raw, right? Uggh. Those are the worst! If you can go without a bra while you are at home try to. Use baby powder or something like that to keep the area from getting sweaty. You just have to let it heal if it is what I'm thinking it is.

You may be allergic to hydrocortisone cream, antihistamines, homeopaths, peppermint oil, and lotions.

Seriously, what you describe sounds like scabies...they LOVE areas where your clothing is in tight contact with your skin...armpits, crotch, bra straps, underwires, belt lines, etc. Go to the doctor....only pick one who isn't a pervert. As for the $$$ involved, would you rather spend that same money on more hydrocortisone cream, antihistamines, homeopaths, peppermint oil, and lotions only to have thme NOT work?

not a lot will help they are blocked glands ,you need to keep them cold if possible heat makes them itch, try calomine lotion ,or alovera, the real plant not creams ,cut the leaf open and scrape out the sap and put directly on the affected areas.but never let it sweat there and if need be keep dry with powder and wash there at least 3 times aday,if you do wear a bre then put toilet paper or something absorbant there ,to soak up any moisture, its hard i know but you have to act fast as these tend to spread, and the spread by tiny molicules that are in the sweat glands,so keeping them clean and dry is very important,i hope this helps all the best ,,,kat.ps,,,,no strong soaps a simple soap or medicated is best .

It could be a heat rash, however have you changed laundry soap or fabric softners lately, these can also cause problems if you are haveing a allergic reaction to one of the products. I would consult a doctor if this does not clear up.

Ouch. That does not sound fun. First off, wash your bedding, just in case. Then try a nice oatmeal bath. That usually helps a bit. If all else fails, see a dermatologist. On a side note, have you ever ahd chicken pox before?

It sounds like you did not try anti-fungal. Mine were due to the candida (yeast) fungus. Anti fungal cream for athlete's foot or anti fungal powder will do it, if that is what it is.

If the cream gets the itching down, and the bumps under control, check out the yeast link at www.hufa.org for more info on why we have it and how to control it.

I had exactly the same thing - the only relief I found was in Gold Bond Medicated Anti-itch cream and going braless. I think mine was sweat related. Good luck!
