The best way is to keep it a secret but as you say people already know . There have been tests which tend to show that the more sleep you have the longer you live. I don't know if they are just coincidence but it's a good come back line.
P.S: I'm 14 and I have to go to bed at 9 :)

Sweetie, real friends don't do things or say things to make you feel bad.
It may not seem like it now, but be happy that your parents love you so much. When you get older, these same "friends" will probably be in trouble all the time. You don't need friends like that.
I'm sorry I don't have a comeback for you, but I think you deserve better friends.

Im 21 and I go to bed at 9:30. Beauty sleep! =)
If the are teasing you... Then they are not your friends in the first place.

Going to bed at 9:00 is great! Just tell them that in 10 years they will have dark cirles under their eyes cuz they don't get enough rest. Also, getting enough sleep is vital to your mental well-being. You will be a lot healthier in the long run and get better grades as well.

Think of it like this: Atleast you'll live longer them.
Anyway just say you wake up early to do get ready for school. If they don't understand that and can't accept you for who you are and continue to tease you then they are not your real friends.
The best amount of hours to sleep is 7-8. Don't sleep too much. But if you sleep too less then take a nap to recover that sleep-debt.

Hmm, i guess 9 is a little early. 10 is most typical. Just don't worry about it. Let them tease, just say sleeping is your favorite thing to do and going to bed at 9 allows you to sleep more.

When i was 12, i had to go to bed earlier than most of my friends, but you know what, i got a lot of rest, and that really helped me do better on my tests and pay attention in school. People who get more rest do better on tests and are able to pay attention and learn more. So tell your friends you like getting your sleep because you want to be able to do well in school and be successful :)

9 at 12, thats not too late, im 13 and i go to bed at 9.30, sometimes 10 if anything really, really interesting is on tv, i just get bored. if these people are properly teasing you then they are not your mates at all! if its friendly than you should just come up with a qoute like 'early to bed early to rise makes you healthy and able to whip your mates ***!' or whatever, just take it lightheartedly, whatever you do, make sure you dont encourage it, it could get out of control. if you wanna be a sheep and be like everyone else, nothing wrong with that, just tell them that you go to bed at 9.30 or 10 or whatever and actually still go to bed at 9. nothing wrong with going to bed at 9. i have a mate of mine who in year/grade 7 he went to bed at 7pm, aged 11, at aged 12 it was 7.30pm, he just didnt care what others thought of him and the jokes died away. actually, yeah, thats my best advice, ignore the other crap before it. good luck and smack those bitches! ;)

At 12, everyone wants to be a "grown up" Just tell them that just because you dont like staying up late and goofin around doesnt mean they have the right to act like children and tease you for it. Make them believe its your OWN CHOICE to go to bed early. Im 26, and I go to bed at 10, Mostly because I LOVE sleeping... My husband once teased me about going to bed early, and I told him, Just because I like sleep and dont feel the need to stay up late like a child does, doesnt mean he can tease me for it. He shut up and never teased me again. Hope this helps.

"At least my parents care."
P.S. That "whenever they want" is not nearly as true as they may claim. I've actually called parents of my daughter's friends to confirm whether they are allowed to do certain things (like surf the internet all the time, have boys over whenever they want, stay out all night) and I'll clue you in - it just ain't so.
