Yes. My kid is only three, but she already knows some basic karate and self defense. So by the time she can be a page, she will be ready for just about anything.

The minimum age for a congressional page is 16 and a junior in high school. I would be ashamed if I raised a child for 16 years and they couldn't take care of themselves well enough to work for congress.

I would, because I hope my chlid would have enough maturity and that we would have a close enough relationship that if any untoward actions were taken he/she would immediately confide in me. We would then stop the situation and move from there. One must remember there are two sides to every story. Why did the girl continue to email Sen. Foley? What is her responsibility in this fiasco? Why are her parents so unaware of her activities?

Of course. That would look great on a resume. YOu can't let that ONE bad apple spoil the bunch. It's still a great opportunity. You have to just teach your child about defending themselves and knowing when they are in a bad situation that they need to come to you a.s.a.p.
