Usually it is best to talk to your daughter's pediatrician about when the best time is to start her on Gerber food. Five months seems like a good time to start her on stage 1 or two Gerber foods, but it is a lot better to ask a professional doctor first.

as a mom of 3. I would say now. Especially if she is seeming to be still hungry after formula or if she is feeding more often than normal. I would introduce stage 1 baby food. mabey once a day to see how she does. Doctors always may suggest waiting, but different parents do different things. I started my babies off at this time and it was great.

If you find your daughter is waking up more than usual and is drinking or milk than normal try her on baby cereal. I am a foster parent and the doctor told me that the 2 month old we had needed baby food because He was growing so fast. I started him on cereal and added one new food every week like the doctor said and the baby became more content and happier almost instantly.

It differs per child. If she alreayd has her teeth it probably time but confirm it with her pediatrician.
