Anytime a urine or blood test is run only those screens that have been ordered are done. In other words if you are screening for a certain listing of drugs a drug not on that list won't show since it wasn't looked for. The same with blood work of any kind. If a hemoglobin is ordered they don't look at thyroid hormone and so forth. You are usually asked to fill out a form at drug screening to list any prescription medications you have taken in the last 30 days so this could be listed.

No, drug tests generally only test for most commonly used illegal drugs. I'm darn near positive that Prozac won't show up on it.
Good luck with your interview!

I don't think they specifically test for antidepressants. Last time I took a drug test for a job I was in the same situation. I didn't disclose that I was taking Prozac and worried that they would mention it. It was never mentioned. They are looking for marijuana, cocaine, heroin, meth.....the list goes on.

ONLY if they test specifically for it.
Prozac (I take it, also) is a SSRI. It does not have the chemical composition of the "typical" narcotics......marijuana, heroine, LSD, etc.
I will say one thing, tho.......NO COMPANY can refuse to hire you simply due to being on Prozac. That would fall under the American's with Disabilities Act (mental health issues are considered a disability), and it would be discrimination if that is what keeps them from hiring you. Personally, I would tell them.....there is NOTHING to be ashamed about.

If it's a standard "pre-job offer" drug screening, then no worries. The test should be checking for illegal drugs only.
I know of no commercial drug tests being used by employers that allow them to screen for any and all drugs. That's an invasion of your privacy.

YES! Depending upon the test, it is possible that some antidepressants will show as a false positive. Your best course of action is being upfront and honest about your prescription. Bring your prescription bottle with you, or have your prescribing doctor write a note.
