Add water (64 oz a day) to your life, cut out sweets, cold drinks, chips, don't eat a lot of bread. Add fruits and veggies. Exercise, do it the right way. Don't lose too much too fast. Why do you want to be 108? Why not just say I would like to lose 20 lbs? Then when you reach that goal see what you feel and look like then; that way you can decide if you really "need" to lose more. Its not how much you weigh, its how good you feel!

That's alot of weight to lose and do it healthy. I would start out by setting a strict diet. Set out a time table and make sure you get five small meals in a day. Small. Keep your metabolism up. I was able to eat five meals a day and take in less than 1200 calories when I was dieting, I'd start there. If you are 5'1 I would try to get down to about 1000 calories a day or make up for it with lots of excersize.

Weight Watchers 123 Points worked really well for me. Weightlifting will help you increase muscle, and that causes you to weigh more, so be careful. A change in diet and moderate exercise like walking will help you shed the pounds.

Add in exercise to your life. If you have a desk job stand at the desk instead of sit. Whne you watch TV stand instead of sit and walk over to change the channel instead of using the remote. When you go shopping, park farther away so you will have to walk more. At the mall, if time is not a concern, take the longer route to a store. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

Eat no more then 1296 calories per day. If you eat more then that you need to exercise to burn off the excess calories.

The simplest weight loss plan in the world. Multiply the weight you want to be by 12 and then don't eat more calories then that per day. It works every single time as long as you actually stick to your budget. I lost 40 lbs.

Your goal is realistic. Your current BMI (Body Mass Index) is 28.71, and your goal would put you at a BMI of 20.4. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), you are in an overweight category.

BMI Weight Status
Below 18.5 Underweight
18.5–24.9 Normal
25.0–29.9 Overweight
30.0 and Above Obese

Here are their BMI calculators (one for adults and one for children): http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/

- If you are a grown woman, you should not go below 1200 calories per day.
- Start walking 30 minutes per day, and if you are able, jog for a minute a few times during your walk. Over time, increase the amount of time you spend jogging. If you can't jog, then just walk briskly - as if you were late to an appointment.
- With these calories and exercise you may safely lose about 1 lb per week.
- Drink water throughout the day. Avoid sodas (drinking 1 can of soda per day = 15 lbs gained per year).
- If you will "count calories" - that is measure, weigh and write down everything you eat for at least ONE WEEK, you will begin to learn about portion sizes. Many people think they are eating one serving, when in fact they are eating 3-4 servings. Log it in a food diary online (such as at sparkpeople.com or fitday.com) and your calorie count will be reported to you. Most people are surprised by the number of calories they consume daily. READ FOOD LABELS.
- Get enough fiber - that means consuming 5-7 servings (1/2 cup) of fruits and vegetables each day, beans and cereals high in fiber (such as raisin bran, bran flakes and mini wheats). If you aren't used to this, start small by adding a salad to your dinner, and a piece of fruit for an afternoon snack.
- Join a weight loss forum (such as those mentioned above in calorie counting or http://weight-loss.fitness.com/ for support and to learn more about eating.

Good luck.

Hey, I have the same problem. I myself want to lose weight (30 pounds), but it hard. Especial when you have to cook for the family. I was on this Herbalife program and that really seams to work but it's expensive. I was at 165 and I drop down to 150 with the program. I still want to lose more. If you want you can email me and we can both try to lose weight by giving each other support. marisa3beatriz@yahoo.com
