I'm converting our H Bomb shelter into a Panic Room. It's directly under the living room but some 12 metres below. We used to have a 4 minute warning to get there but now it needs to be instantaneous. I thought of a Fireman's pole but anyone can follow you. Any ideas how to close it off once we've slid down? There's only two of us now.

You could always fill it in and get a life instead.

Is this Wacky Bob in Bagdad?
Maybe you could put your Captain Crazy hat on and beam yourselves directly into the "panic room".

Or maybe you could spend your money with a therapist who can help you with your extreme paranoia.

Question, Do you think you need a panic room becuase someone might try and come into your house to steal your Eminem bed linen collection or some other thing that only you find valuable?

It's always people that have nothing of any real value that are prepared to go to extremes to protect "it".

Really wealthy people don't give a crap as they know everything is replaceable except human beings and animals.

have a trap door so the intruder can be lured over it.
you could fill it with water and put sharks in it, then get your mini-me to press a big red button to release the sharks from their pen to devour your unwanted guest, no need to call the sheriff and the sharks get fed.!!!

Good grief, where do you live?
How about one of those fold up / down stairs that you would push back up after you desend and secure in place with a sturdy piece of wood so who ever is followuing can not push it down.
Again, where do you live !@#
