Hey in Australia @ss is the furthest from being a swear (cuss) word as you can get. On TV here I have heard the 'F' word more times than I care to mention. Wish censorship was more strict here.

Because '***' is considered as offensive. Saying 'bum' would be ok, because that's the correct term for it and isnt offensive. Penis is not offensive or swearing, you get me?
Ofcourse, it depends on context because sometimes '***' can just mean donkey.

I think it's because no-one uses penis in a derogatory sense, the censorship is more to stop me calling you an asshole, than to stop you asking what to do about a pimple on your ***.
