There are many verses in the Bible that can show you he really is your Lord and Savior. Rest easy knowing that you are saved! Here are some verses:
1John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Acts 16:31They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved
Rev 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me.
Romans 10:10,13 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
John 6:47 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

It comes more slowly than you think. It is not a one day I get saved and the next day I am a perfect person. Being saved is the obvious beginning step but you must then implement the bible in your everyday life and the way you treat others. Slowly, as you begin to follow more and continue to ask for your sins to be forgiven (because you will sin everyday...no one can say they do not!) and as time progresses you will notice how God places himself at the front of your thoughts when you make decisions. Little by little you are growing in the Lord and He in you. You will feel Him gently reminding you when you do something you know is against His teachings and it will become automatic to ask for forgiveness right then. You will see the changes in your life as you are bettering yourself, He will better your life. When all else fails, Sit quite. Be still and know that He is with you. He talks to you all of the time, you just either do not yet understand what He is saying or you are not listening hard enough. Bless youon your journey.

Congrats on your giving yourself to the Lord, but if you don't know if you did or not, then I am glad that you are concerned. If you hold to Jesus' teachings then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Have you been holding to his teachings? Read your bible and get someone to sit with you to help. Here's a start:
Acts 8:30-31,Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. "Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. "How can I," he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
Acts 2:38,Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
John 3:5, Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
Acts 8:36, As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"

What has happened here is that you gave your heart to God, but you have not yet submitted to him and his will for you.
This would be your walk with God. It is very different than your actual salvation. Now, that being said, the bible states that faith without works is dead, meaning that once you accept salvation, you should feel a need to read and reread Gods word, and to study it and get to know God.
You can feel this need for many years and not submit to it, but once you do, you then begin to grow and walk closer and closer with God.
Feelings or emotions change within fleshly humans all the time. We are not supposed to rely on feelings or emotions when it comes to submitting to Gods word. You may not feel different, you may feel different, all flesh reacts individually. What you are looking for, is that need, or pull to become closer to God and then to submit to that pull.
So, here are a few things to do. Read and re read your bible. Attend worship services, and if mans words conflict with the bibles words, stick with the bible. Pray to God for all things, including understanding and knowledge of what you have read in his living word.
When you feel the need or the pull to act on what you have read and been taught by God, act on it. The longer we wait to act on lessons given or taught, the longer it will take to move on to higher understanding and yet more lessons and knowledge.
More simply put, get involved with the family that you have just joined. You are now a child of God, act like one.

when you first come to Jesus things seem the same but what you don't realize is you begin to change;you don't act the same talk the same dress the same, people who are out of order make you feel very uncomfortable in time you realize that your no longer mixing with the same crowned unless they doing upright things. satan will begin to mess with you more because he wants you to go back to your old ways cause he knows if you take it to the Lord there is nothing you can't over come,so you really don't have any fear of anything.

It is a journey, it took me over 20 years of being a Protestant to become a Catholic.
Some days are better than others, we are all human!
Do you look at your fellow man with more sympathy and love?
Are you quicker to let go of hate?
There are a million little ways to realize that you are different!
God Bless you!
Peace!

**steps down off soapbox**
OK elaine_brc, here is a scripture that will help:
1 John 5:13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
God gave us His word so that we may KNOW that you have eternal life. Thank God that His salvation is not based on our feelings!

Did that long cut and paste from Slickyboy help?
It's all in your head so if you want to feel different and don't think about all the contradictions of religion, you will feel different. If you use logic and reason, you won't.

Salvation is not a feeling---it is a state of being. Have no doubt that you are saved.
