Is there a certain age that is designed by law? Or just up to the individual?

I remember trick or treating with friends when I was 17. Some people refused to give us candy saying we were too old. Some people were nice about it and we said we understood and wished them a Happy Halloween and some people were really rude about it. We had nothing better to do and just wanted to have some fun. That's better than some kids nowadays who would go get drunk and possibly even drive. I think it should be more acceptable for older kids to trick or treat. I'm looking forward this year to trick or treating with my daughter. But I do think 13 years old is a good age to start thinking about stopping doing this. When I was 22 I went trick or treating with 4 football players around the age of 24 and just one little girl who was 3. The people who opened their door all had a weird look on their face. Most people laughed and gave us candy because they thought it was sweet we had the little 3 year old with us.

There is no law, thankfully (the government is too intrusive as it is.)

The basic guideiline is, if you go trick or treating, and people handing out candy make wise-cracks about your age, you've probably crossed the threshold.
I think most people figure if you're a year or two past puberty, you're too old, which is too bad, because it's still fun.
So dress in something that hides your boobs and makes you look younger.

there is no law. As long as you have children with you, you have every right to trick or treat, but if you're in your mid 20's trick or treating, you really need some new friends!

Ok, if you're really short, put on a mask & no one will be the wiser ;)

Or, find some little kids to take Trick or Treating, then ask them to share their candy with you :)

13 is the limit. but if all the older people over 13 would stay home. there would be more people home to give candy to this generation. your lucky if you find 3 out of 50 houses on the street giving candy. also if your going out with your little ones please leave someone at the house like teenagers to give out candy because its only fair your going out for candy your house should give be candy.big kids can go to partys that arnt for the lil tykes.

12, is too old, by then you are earning enough allowance to buy your own candy. Volunteer to babysit that night and take out some kids. I get candy all the time going with my kids.
