Anorexia is a disease. You can't punish people for having a disease.

How can or could there be a law against an illness. Anorexia is classed as a mental disorder, right?

In order to change, things need to be done from the bottom up, and that starts with the way people perceive women, or what a woman should be like - to change that, you would have to change the Media portrayal of women in general, and also generally educate people that being emaciated is neither healthy nor that attractive.

Anorexia is an illness and not against the law. The government in the US does not and should not try to control EVERY aspect of our lives. The only thing I can see that government can do (and may already do) is have information available.

Be careful, you have liberal tendencies. That can be very dangerous.

Stop putting out little dolls that look like the HOokers on the street corners, stop putting out pictures of models who are hmmm 30 lbs... and stop trying to dress three year olds up like they're thirty. It's ridiculous.. .kids are kids.. they're growing up too fast and the image that is put in their mind from the time they are born is the only way they will be found attractive is if they are skinny, piled on make-up and have big boobs and a little bitty ***... The government can't do anything about it.. . ... But, no, there isn't a law against it.. If there was, we'd all be doing great... No one would be making themselves puke anymore at bathrooms in restaurants.... The only thing that can be done is to tell your children/family/friends/ that there is nothing wrong with not weighing 30. lbs. and that you are fine just the way you are.

Legal penalties for anorexia sufferers will not remedy anything. This is a complex condition caused and influenced by many factors, including genetics, cultural beliefs, mental health, psychological processes.

Should me also make cancer illegal?

The government should be, and is, funding research into anorexia. That's about all.

Should the government force us to eat? You must think so.

Now tell me how you plan to work this? Should we have government monitors with us 24/7 to make sure we eat 3 meals a day and to monitor our calorie intakes? What happens if you throw up? Can they jail you? Shoot you?

Please. I am so interested in your ideas on this.

ROFLMAO

Buttercup is retarded, ignore the idiot.

You don't want government regulations in areas of your life like this, because where would it end? With them outlawing Heavy Metal bands? or mini-skirts? Please be careful what you ask for!

It's a mental thing, how are they suppose to pass a law to stop it when they don't know what causes it.
