No its not a valid reason, just go and do your civic duty, if you don't want to be on a jury, quit voting.

No. Being on a jury is your civic duty. Unless you are violently ill, there is no reason why you should get out of jury duty. If you are going to be on a long case, then yes it should be a consideration. But most trials are less than a week and you should be able to handle it.

You're only a few weeks pregnant and you want out of jury duty? Is it because of the morning sickness? Try and see. Personally unless you were on bed rest I wouldn't allow it. Aren't you currently working? That may also sway the judge.

I doubt it. Unless you're on bed rest. But if you're just newly pregnant with no serious health problems, I doubt a judge would take a normal pregnancy as a serious reason not to be a juror. Sorry! Besides - it's kinda fun, as someone who has been on a jury before. The process is interesting. :) Something different to do for a few days. :)

Yes it is. Since a the trial could be lengthy and very stressful and if it is a violent offense it could raise your blood pressure and cause you to be hospitalized. Pregnant women must avoid stress if they want to have a healthy Baby. Just call the number provided and let them know why you can not serve. I was excused once myself from jury duty, because I had two small children.

The actual rules will vary by jurisdiction which you did not mention. Generally, being a few weeks along would probably not be an excuse unless the trail is expected to last a long time or your pregnancy is expected to be difficult. If serving would harm your child or the pregnancy would keep you from serving for the entire trial, that would be a legitimate excuse.

You doctor would have to state that jury duty would be harmful to you in some way due to the pregnancy.

The only way it would be a valid reason is if your doctor has you on complete bedrest. Then AND ONLY then can you get out of it. Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you're exempt, however, if you already had small children who depend on you and no available childcare for them, THAT would be a valid reason.

Most likely not. IF it is a serious health matter, most likely. Millions of women get pregnant and serve on a jury.

Not if you're only a few weeks along unless you have really bad morning sickness and think you might throw up at any given time (or something like that). Just do your civic duty.
