God believers, the racial groups with the least amount of Atheists, have most problems, why?

Question

African Americans have the least amount of Atheists in this country.

African Americans have the most problems and they're into God the most.

1. high crime rate
2. high single parent rate
3. lower education levels
4. high hiv cases

There's more but i'm tired of typing

I think you would have to really approach this claim at a more historical perspective rather than religious. Those four "problems" are primarily the fallout of racial prejudice in the US since the 17th century. Having been oppressed vehemently by the system of slavery since the inception of this country most definitely contributed to desperation (crime), lower education, loss of family cohesion, etc. Even after the Civil War, African Americans were still plagued by unjust laws that perpetuated these same horrifying results up until relatively recent times (the 60's).

As for their belief in God, it is probably traced to the widespread conversion of slaves from their aboriginal religions to Christianity during the existence of slavery. Most slaves were converted upon arrival to the "New World," thus these beliefs were passed down from generation to generation.

Seriously, you need to take a class or read a book on logical arguments. If what you are saying is true about African Americans and athiests, that still doesn't prove anything. You could say that they all have dark skin so that is the cause. It would be an equally stupid thing to assume.

All you people screaming for more info, this guy is dead on. The percentage of the black community that is church-going is above that of whites, I'm not sure about latinos. And yet it's obvious that they aren't prospering as a group. I was actually thinking of asking the same question.

Because when you fail to engage in any logical reasoning or critical thinking, all hell breaks loose. And when you put all your faith in what some authority figure or a book says and fail to question any of it, everything - killing people, killing off certain races, etc. - is fair game. It is sad that more people don't realize this, but people have a hard time thinking for themselves. They need someone to stroke their hair and say "there there, Jesus will forgive you, everything is alright".

I doubt your ethnicity, but agree that churches and various religions have always been at one another throats. They will unite politically, back blue laws together, but once the dust is settled, they get back to fighting among themselves again. Murdering, too!

Many claim to believe in God, but they only know about God. The majority only pay lip service, they never committ to Him.

The reason why they less problems is because they pray and ask for repentence you can turn your life over to god and he will help you but you have to take it step by step
