My cats love it. They say not to give it to them, but someone forgot to tell my cats that. =) Just don't give it every day, don't give more than about a tablespoon or so, and watch to make sure it doesn't make him vomit or give him diarrhea.

I asked my veterinarian and the people at the Humane Society if I can give my cats milk. They both said no. The reason is because it can cause diarrhea.

They said if your cat is constipated then it's OK to give them milk to get him regular again.

My sister has given her cat evaporated milk since it was a baby and has never had a problem, but I think she is the exception.

Although people give milk to cats, it is not good for them, they are lactose intolerant. You can buy a special milk called "Cat Milk" some stores carry it in the pet food section. It comes in a small carton.

My Kinsey is 14 years old and he has always liked to lap up the milk remaining in my cereal. Some cats like milk and don't have a problem digesting a small amount. My other four cats aren't interested in milk in any form.

My cat -8 years old now - has been drinking milk since I found her at the age of 3 months.
She gets it plain once a week and often gets on the left over of my Corn Flakes enriched with nesquick.... She never had any problems.

Like kitty cats, I am lactose intolerant ... and milk can give me "tummy problems." Soooooo..... we buy Lactaid ... which is milk without the lactose... which tastes exactly the same as ordinary milk.

We also have a few "dairy cats" ... cats who really like milk and other dairy products. Since we are using milk without lactose, I don't hesitate to share my leftover milk with a few purring, appreciative cats. (And I usually leave a few Cheerios in there, too .... and always smile when I hear that CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH sound!)

To have your cereal and share it with your kitty, just switch to Lactaid if you want to be sure that your cat won't become ill.

P.S. Our kitty is very excited about mushy cornflakes or gravelly Grape Nuts, but Captain Crunch is their absolute fave!!!!

purrrrrrrr

Yes, my son does this with our cat. But generally, it's not a good idea to just give them milk often.

dont give her too much after they grow into adults they lose most of their ability to digest the lactose in milk. so only small amounts are fine for your cat.
