Sound like you have lost your appreciation for life....... You were on the right track... Stay positive, and you will attract positive people to you. Be aware of those around you who are draining your energy. You know who they are. The needy energy vampires. Only interact with them when you have the energy to give them.... Try meditation, or Yoga as a means of energizing your life by tapping into the limitless supply of universal energy. Be mindful of how you care for your body. Exercise, Get rest, and eat healthy foods......

A student went to his meditation teacher and said, "My meditation is horrible! I feel so distracted, or my legs ache, or I'm constantly falling asleep. It's just horrible!"

"It will pass," the teacher said matter-of-factly.

A week later, the student came back to his teacher. "My meditation is wonderful! I feel so aware, so peaceful, so alive! It's just wonderful!'

"It will pass," the teacher replied matter-of-factly.

When a person does something good not for the sake of God, he or she will get frustrated at one point and will stop doing good. However if the person is truely doing it for the sake of God, to get the pleasure of God then he or she will never get tired and will not get dissapointed by the negative attitude of the people. Because you always will be sure that God is watching you and He is giving you credit. And He shall reward you abundantly when the time comes, on the Judgement Day.

It's also important to find the Right Religion, so that your good deeds won't be gone for nothing. Because Allah says about good people who are non-muslims, that their deeds will be like a mountain on the Judgement Day but this mountain will be from ashes. He says that there will be a strong wind which will make this mountain fly away, you will be left with nothing! Why? Because you did all these good deeds not for the sake of Allah, maybe you did it for the sake of prophet Jesus, or the Cross, or the Trinity or the Idols or the Cow....etc So why God should accept your deeds that were done not for Him.

Go for Islam, brother. I am sure you will find what you are looking for. Links about Islam is on my profile.

Actually, you're in an AWESOME place and don't even know it.

The good that humans can do only goes so far in satisfying. It only goes so far in satisfying the hunger of the human soul but it actually goes nowhere in what God's really interested in.

When God created man, He created him to take part in all the cool, supernatural things He had in mind to do - with man participating with Him. One of the first things He did was bring all the animals He made to see what Adam would call them (Genesis 2:19-20). And God had other really cool things planned for Adam and his offspring, but the plans got interrupted because of Adam's disobedience (Genesis 2:17, and all of chapter 3).

God came walking in the garden, moving to the Spirit of the day, ready to roll, ready to have another day of rejoicing over the man He had formed and breathed His own breath into, but iniquity had severed the heart connection, and, instead, God ended up calling, "Adam, where are you?" (Genesis 3:9)

Jesus came and restored the original plan so that God could come and call to hang out and move with man to the Spirit of the day. God isn't so much interested in what we do. He just wants us to come and learn of Him and hang out with Him. That's what He wants. He has awesome things planned for every person, and He wants us all to walk with Him in seeing these awesome plans that God has come to pass.

Did you ever stop to consider that the emptiness you feel is God missing you?

This is what God says in Jeremiah 33:3: "Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you have not known."

Do you ever have people you wish would call? If so, then this is a bit of a picture of what God is saying.

That's nice you have a desire to help others with no expectations in return. You do have to protect yourself against users, and hypocrisy is everywhere because humans are not perfect. Hopefully you don't believe you are so enlightened you have no need for religion-- that would cut off a lot of opportunities for education and self improvement.
Keep doing things, but do them as you want that does no harm to others. To use a passage from the Bible to illustrate, don't cast your pearls before swine. :-)

You are looking at things in human/earthly terms. Think of things in a spiritual/big-picture sense. Having a relationship with God is more important than following any religion.

Try a non-denominational group that teaches the Bible verse-by-verse. Avoid churches that use topical messages. These can be random and vague. Find a group that does not have heavy membership requirements or big monetary drives. Look. Seek. It's out there.

You are right, the Bible says there is nothing new under the sun.

Try philosophy. If you want a short, easy to take course, read "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder. It is written in the style of a novel and very entertaining. And stop being so critical of others. As the old hippies said, "They weren't put on earth for your approval." Avoid those that you don't have good vibes with.

Be content with what God has given you. Accept the peace of God that Jesus Christ can give you. Pay no attention to those who do not appreciate your efforts---you can do nothing to make these people go away, as they will always be with you no matter where you go or what you do. Keep loving your neighbor as yourself, and treat people as you want yourself to be treated. Have faith that God will always provide for you and that he will dispatch your enemies and abusers from your presence. Give your life to Jesus and serve the Lord. Jesus loves you and he will never abandon you nor forsake you. He will always appreciate your efforts to serve.

I'm having the same problem. It seems nobody appreciates the people around them, even if the person brings them comfort. I say keep searching, that's what I've been doing, and things seem to be making more sense as I go. People in our state are just in Limbo, but balance will be restored. Good Luck man!

You seem like an easily manipulated person, so I'll warn you against taking any advice without checking into it first... but I think the only way to answer your question is with another question...What do you love doing more than anything else? You will find your answer in that question.
