my boyfriend makes up stories about anything sometimes I think just to have something to talk about. is there something wrong with him mentally

Some people lie to make themselves more interesting to others. Some lie because they don't like to own up to their own mistakes. Others lie because their lips move.

Some people make up stories so that way they don't have to see reality. Or like you said he needs something to talk about. I know from a past relationship my ex had to tell wild stories about his childhood. I later found out they were a lie and the reason he lied was to make his childhood seem better than what it really was.

Young guys like being liars, for them that means they're mature and macho enough, the best way to deal with them is just to ignore those lies... then they will automatically tell you the truth

Not mentally but spiritually .. ther is somethign in him that makes him either need to hide or embellish the person he is ... draw him out and above all ... point out that you know he si lying .. liars won;t keep it up if they know someone is on to them

Seriously... coz they are not sure of themselves, they are afraid of people's reaction and they are coward....... but on second thought some lies can bring happiness or be benefit to someone!!!!
