Buy rubbery rollers in the drug store. They twist and are easy to put in. It makes a great curl. Or just twist little pieces of your hair and use bobby pins to hold them over night. To get wavy hair just wear your hair in a bun over night. (all this is done when hair is wet) Don't forget to add a good volumizer, like mousse.

Curling irons will do, but if you dont want that too much heat in your hair. You may try this:
With a damp hair(not overly wet), put on some mousse. Use some rollers, choose a size that will fit how big curls you would want to have. Use a blow dryer to dry each section rolled. When done, remove the rollers and toss your hair with your hand. Style with your hand, do not comb.

You could always wash your hair (or wet it) at night and add some styling product: gel, mousse, etc. Braid your hair (the bigger the braid the less dramtic the wave and vice versa). Sleep on it, take the braid out in the am and you've got wavy hair. Or assuming the party is at night you could start the process in the am.

My hair is naturally curly, but I have a friend who will put a curl activator in her wet hair, then in about 1-2 inch sections, twist the hair around your finger (do all sections so you look like you have dreads, almost) then spray with spray gel and dry with a diffuser while scrunching! It looks really cute when she does it, so give it a try!

I have something that is sort of like a crimper but instead of frizzy little "crimps" its barrels are big and it gives me waves. You could get the same thing by braiding you hair when it's slightly damp and leave it in all night. When you take it out in the morning it's wavy.

Hot rollers help the curl last longer than a curling iron.

Curling irons always work. But if you don't want to damage your hair as much you can try using curlers that you leave in your hair over night.

You can use curliers, crimps or sometimes they have shampoos that you wash your hair with and then you dry it and you have curls.
