The best is what you feel is comfortable. A simple spell is the best to start and then when you are comfortable with the simple stuff start to add more and more steps as you see fit. The thing to keep in mind is have fun and don't worry.

First, if you're a wiccan and worried about your first spell, you might want to rethink the label you apply to yourself. Wicca is about the God and Goddess, not the rituals, in the same way that Christianity is about Jesus of Nazareth, not the building worshippers meet in.

Second, ritual is a very personal experience and choice. No one can say, "This is the best spell," because no one knows you to know what you need. You do.

The first spell you do should be one personally meaningful.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Do you mean a beginner spell of sorts? There isn't really a "beginner" spell to just do spells. You have to have a purpose... Are you planning on writing your own spells or just copying someone else's? (nothing wrong with either, but it's important to know!)
What are your intentions, besides just preforming a spell?

Magic is not like cooking food, no one can give one recipe that will suddenly work for everyone. There is allot of subtle skills to be learnt.
