I cant just let them be so i catch them and let them go out the back. I think its really tight if people just whack them with a shoe or something.

it totally depends on the types of spider. Where I live we mostly see wolf spiders, black widows, brown lacrouse and daddy long legs, The first 3 i kill the second i see them. The last thing i want is to be bit in my sleep and die because i didnt know i was bit. The Daddy long legs though i let them be to kill of gnats and mosquitoes for me. however i do place them out side

I usually leave them to let be. But if I need to move them then i just get a bit of tissue paper (if they look a bit scary) or my hand and let them free! I would feel really bad if i killed anything, as we all have an equal right to be on this planet, and the spider may have a family. I also get worried that if i hurt anything then it will come back to me twice as bad!

I just let them be, the majority of them are harmless.
I don't understand why so many people are afraid of them and feel the need to kill them. They are lovely little creatures and have just as much right to live as we do.

Also grumpcook has made a very valid point. We could indeed come back as spiders in our next live. For all you know the spiders you have been killing could be the reincarnation of someone you know who has passed away.

I don't mind Daddy Long Legs, or spiders outside, but i whack or spray in the house. Black widows die! All die in the house, especially the bedroom. I have been bitten twice, once on the face. It was extremely painful, I was hospitalized and treated. The second time was on the hand, little bitty spider, big red swollen hand for a week.

So, I don't take chances. Being spider bitten in bed is worse than a nightmare! Sorry I can't agree 100% with you.

I would never kill a spider as it is really unlucky, especially in your own home, my grandma always used to say, 'If you want to live and thrive, let a spider run alive,' I either put a glass over the top of them and paper underneath and take them outside or just let them be.

Try not to ever kill anything, Sometimes the worst happens and you may crush a snail that you didn't see, But to kill something because your scared of it - That is the whole reason the human race is in a unreversable terrible mess.
Think Karma - It will pay you back In some way that is for certain...

I ask my son to catch the spiders and I have him set them outside (if they are in the house). If they are outside, I just stare at them in horror. I don't like when someone sees a spider and then the next thing you know "WHAMP!!!". Besides, I prefer not to have guts all over the place and my shoe. Blech!

I leave them be if they are anywhere but the kitchen, if they are in the kitchen I set them free, I take them outside and put them on the bush or on a plant. I have ahuge spider that lives behind the fireplace I've named him Goerge because he's been in the house for years he's practically part of the family.

Kill them!

I don't go outside hunting for them with the intention of killing all I find, but if I see a spider in my house, I will definitely kill it. I don't smash them with a shoe - that leaves spider guts all over. I get a tissue or paper towel and crush it with my fingers.

Actually I've been meaning to ask if it is normal to keep one as a pet. I found that one had made a web on my bathroom window sill next to the mirror in a stand. As I go to do my teeth he detects the vibrations and comes out for a look. I decided to let him be (he has now shed his skin(?) twice and is quite big). He has built a mass of webbing rather than your classical spider's web. Normally I catch them and throw them out the window ( it doesn't harm them).
