There are 1000's of churches and a few chose the wrong path. Why do people insist on judging all churches because of a few. Is that what racist due to other ethnicity's? They see a few that cause problems and say they are all bad. In my church if there is any sign of abuse it's immediately addressed.

I do not believe it , belief is a matter of faith. I know they cover it up. Not only the catholic church but also the protestant do it , they just cover their tracks better. A lot of time the more pious sounding the worst they are. All you have to do to verify it is just check and compile the news.

The function of a Church is to support the clergy financially and that requires donations. Anything that might effect their cash flow in a negative manner has to be kept quiet. Simple economics. If you refer to beating children rather tha sex abuse, it is biblical "He that spareth the rod hateth his son", "A rod for the fools back", among others. This is why I'm now a Pagan, we have no paid clergy, and we're not required to physically abuse children.

Because they know it is immoral, illegal and they dont want people (or should i say "paying" contributators) to associate it with them. Pretty much the same reason all the other child abusers hide it.

Because they know if the truth gets out, they would lose a lot of their followers.

sure, i think of it rather is thoroughly incorrect to slap a baby of any age interior the face. it rather is a maximum cowardly act. I do even nonetheless recommend spanking yet basically in severe circumstances and continually on the posterior. yet absolutely everyone who might slap a baby interior the face disgusts me.
