Trust me when I say that the pain of losing one that you love far outweighs the pain of not having a love returned.

I've been married 26 years, so unrequited love is probably not going to happen to me. Every day my own mortality hits me in the face when I look in the mirror and see a new wrinkle or age line I didn't see before. I really hope my wife and I both die at the same time, like in a plane crash or something like that because I wouldn't want either of us to go through the pain of losing someone so close.

What a horrible thing to have to face!!! I would rather not loose a loved one. If things don't work out at least you can hold on to the hope that may be some day things will rectify themselves to some degree. If they are gone then there is no hope just endless unanswered questions and that feeling of emptiness never to be restored to that level again.

It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Either way, you're at a loss in these situations, so I guess it'd be easier for me to get over the pain of losing a loved one cause I'd be happy for them that they're in a better place now...

opps! read it wrong! I would rather have a love not come back or return love than to lose a loved one. 6 months ago I lost my 21 years old niece and only 3 months before that my cousin who I was very close to.. and I feel like I am scarred for life.. life doesn't feel normal anymore, and I doubt it ever will. things like this change you in ways you would never imagine... life seems a little more fragile and more precious than you ever thought before.
I'm sorry I read the question wrong.. I was in too big of a hurry.

I would rather not have the pain of losing a loved one. The other kind of love is a lot of time just your hormones acting up.

I would far rather have loved someone, did all I could to make their life better and pray I was able to make a positive differance in their lives than to know I didn't even try.
