Tons! The Red Cross and The Salvation Army have chapters all over the place and they are good organizations. Also, places like homeless shelters and soup kitchens always need more help.

The Points of Light Foundation is a great place to find charities and organizations which need volunteers.

Thanks for wanting to be involved - you sound like a great person. Good luck!

Well, for starters, remember you may be only 13 but even YOU can make a difference in your community.
There are many things you can do.....
1) Volunteer at nursing homes, retirement centers, and adult day cares.
2) Organize a "Kids Day Out In The Park". Invite several younger kids to the park and show them how to hit a ball, make paper airplanes, fly kites, throw frisbees, etc.
3) Put sign up on public bulletin boards advertising your services as free babysitter for 1 hr a wk for single moms.
4) Volunteer at your local food bank.
5) Volunteer thru your church to visit sick kids at hospitals.

The list goes on and on. You are a special young man/lady to want to volunteer your time and energy to your community.
Good luck and keep it up!
God shines His light on those of us who lend an unselfish hand.
God bless you
