What are some community service things a 13 year old can do in my commuity?

I really want to help out my community,but I'm not what to do and exactly how I volunteer.Ideas?

Hello,

Well, you could help take care of animals at a shelter, or pick up trash at a park or the beach. Do you like to paint things or repair things? Some of your friends & family, or members from your church might want to get involved with you. Maybe there is a community center in your town where you could help there. Recycling centers often need extra help too.

Maybe you could help serve food at a soup kitchen or help deliver meals to the elderly? Perhaps you could organize a drive to collect needed items (blankets, coats, school supplies, toys?) for a shelter or hospital? Could you help mentor younger kids or help tutor w/schoolwork? Libraries also might have some opportunities for volunteers. Do you have museums in your town or tourist places? Those are possibilities.

You might want to even think ahead about a possible career choice you are interested in and then do some work related to that field if possible. It will definately give you an edge up in more ways than you can imagine. Maybe even music.

First, that is a great attitude.
The rewards for such service can be tremendous.

There are many animal refuge shelters that rely on volunteers.
Also, you might simply spend time with elders in old folks homes. Often, they are very lonely, and enjoy the opportunity to talk with people. You can learn gain a lot of wisdom from elders. Some from what they say, and some from the experience and what they don't say.

Volunteer at your local animal shelter. Go to a hospital or better yet an old age home and visit some senior citizens and maybe read to them or just talk. Just the fact that you are asking is an admirable quality to have. Keep up the good work, your on your way to being a great human being.
