I wish good contacts had been available when I was your age. I tried the old hard contacts for 2 weeks and decided that I would rather just poke sticks in my eyes a couple of times a day. However almost 25 years ago I tried the first soft contacts and have worn them ever since in happiness. I am not a doctor but am well informed and I have no knowledge of any problems that someone of your age might have other than caring for them properly. That might cause problems but if you are an organized and serious person then you should be quite happy.

Lenses are no good for your eyes as your so young, get glasses and maybe consider laser surgery in the future when your older, lenses could do more damage than good wearing them all the time on a daily basis, my sister wear them and one is 18 years old, always has itchy eyes, red eyes, watery eyes and runny nose all the time, not very nice, I would rather wear glasses!!!!!

I started using contacts right around sixteen. This was also when hard contacts were considered the best option. So I'd say no you're not too young. Now you can get great soft disposable lenses plus, it's cheaper to buy a new box when your prescription changes than it is to buy new glasses.

I got mine in the eighth grade and have never looked back. With contacts, though, either don't wear them all day, every day, or get the silicon lenses. I wear mine constantly, and my doctor found that the blood vessels in my eyes were doing funky things. It's reversible if you do either of the above things, but you want to be careful.

15 is not too young for contact lenses if you take care of them correctly. It takes a certain amount of maturity to handle the responsibility. Good luck!

The age of 15 is not too young to wear them, but I can understand parents hesitating when considering if the 15 year old is responsible enough to have them.

Not at all. Try out the lenses that you sleep in; they are great! Very liberating, I only take them out once a month, plus they are cheaper than dailies.

Nope. I'm 15, and though I don;t have contacts. I could be. I wear glasses. Lots of 15 year olds wear contacts.
I think the youngest is 10 or something, though it's recommeded for 13+.

No, I got mine at 15 so did a friend of mine. If you have already been wearing day lenses it shouldn't be a problem. Just consult with your eye doctor I'm sure he/she will be happy to talk with you about it.

You are not too young to get contacts with the variety of contacts that are out there now, even people with astigmatism can get contacts. Check with your eye care professional and they can give you more options but as long as you are able to place them in your eyes and take care of them there is no problem.
