. . . is this a pre-leg-over question? . . .

Firsts off, never ever make a promise you can't keep. Always mean what you say. Tell her you will always be there, and then be there when she needs you. Let her know she can trust you. I suspect if she needs someone, she will feel a whole lot better knowing you are there for her.

awww, you really don't have to verbally promise this, showing is promise enough. be there for her, take care of her when she is sick, look out for her if she is a little short on bills, laugh and keep her laughing, have fun, and take her mind off of things that may be stressful. just make her believe you are with her through thick and thin.
before you know it, your promise has been kept.

Just tell her, in person, when she is going through hard times that you will always be there for her support. She will feel very special and most likely appreciate you in a whole new way. Go for it!!

I wouldn't. Way too many times I have said 'I'll always love you' and two weeks later it was over, and too many times I've heard 'I'll always be there for you' or 'I'll never let you down' and frankly, if someone told me that now I'd be very suspicious.

please make sure you mean this, as there is nothing more hurtful than someone who promises that, and then doesnt stand by this....if you love her, prove it, and she will maybe belive you
