Skin-colored blob on white of eye.?

I was looking last night at my fiance's eye and noticed that he had a skin-colored fatty-looking blob on the white of his eye. It is not flat, but sticks up a little. What is this? Is it benign? PS: He is 56.

Have it checked by an opthamologist (not an optometrist.)

It's probably benign, but you really don't want to take any chances with an eye.
