i dont think ive heard of a dog dying of it. There are meds that can control it, but i don't know if they actually die from it. Unless it caused another problem. I hope you find out what happened...its too bad it was such a young dog. Sorry to hear about it

I've never heard of a dog dying from it either - tho maybe because it was so young. I've had 2 that had epilepsy, a lhasa apso and a chinese crested. No one knows what causes epilepsy, but it is kind of like an electrical short. I think all breeds can have it.

So sorry about your baby! {{{Hugs}}}

It is a genetic disorder, and there are some lines of Labs that do carry it, most of which have been identified.
There is also the remote possibility of the epilepsy being the result of brain trauma caused during birth.
It is very uncommon for this to be fatal

Not sure how epilepsy killed your dog. I've lived with it for 16yrs.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
