A few days ago i bought some headers for my Sentra and I had them installed the next day. As i left the shop i noticed that my car made a whistle when it was revved above 2rpm's. The guy at the shop said it was how these after market headers were made thats what caused the whistle noise. Its there anything I can do to stop this noise or I have to put up with it as long as I have them installed. Any ideas to to stop this ???

No i did not have them installed I had the down pipe WELDED on there. If I owned a welder i would have done it myself.

Look for any leakage. Fix that first.

However, keep in mind that headers are much thinner than cast iron exhaust manifolds and will allow much more sound to resonate throught the walls of the tubes. There are some high temperature wraps that may cut that down but half the fun of headers is the sound that they make.

Sounds like more welding necessary. You are not hearing the alternator noise winding down right? Nismo headers I have installed are quiet as stock cat converter so try a different muffler shop for a little touch up welding. By welding the pre pipe to the headers every Nissan technician will curse you when it comes time to remove the oil pan or do a clutch job. I suspect this is a 2.5 liter SER spec 5

I've never head of headers being made to leak. Unless you bought some cheap stuff and the welds have cracked already, I find it hard to believe that its just how they are.

Take it back, have them retighten everything for find the leak. If it is leaking, take it to a muffler shop and have them run another bead of weld/reweld the area that is leaking.

Depends if it is a leak or just thin tubes that cause the problem. If it is cheapness (thin tubes, then you just have to put up with it), if it is a leak, you could have them fitted better or welded to fix the whistle.

Are you serious?

You had someone else install your headers for you?

If your going to pay someone to do something as EASY as installing headers....I would just give up and stay away from cars for the rest of your life.
