I have been dating someone for about 5 months now. Things were great, but then I had to leave for college. I just recently went back home to visit and it was awesome, but now he isn't sure if he wants to stay in the relationship ( as long as it is long distance) how should I interpret this? Does he really care like he says and he is just having a hard time? Or has he wanted out and just doesnt have the guts to tell me? I am roughly 3 1/2 hours away from where he lives...if you have any suggestions on how to make it work, please let me know.

This is just a date and not marriage. He has spelt it out for you. it isn't that he is concerened about the distance but i think is no longer interested in the relationship. face what you are there to do which is your education and trust me, a better guy that will cherish and love you for the rest of your life will come your way.

I agree with KatB it doesn't seem like he's into a long distance relationship. I've learned that you can't have a relationship function when you are far apart from each other even if it's 3 1/2 hours apart. End it and find someone closer to you in school or find someone else who actually wants to be in a long distance relationship with you.

I don't really think it is a matter of him not wanting to be with you. I think that when people have feelings for someone they want to touch, hug, kiss and just be around you physically. It is so hard to show someone how you feel over the phone or in a letter.

It sounds to me like he is crying out for you to be next to him. And believe it or not sex is a huge part of a relationship. Its scary to think that you can't be that close to the person and maybe they are getting close to someone else just to fill that void of the other person not being there.

Good luck!!! I made my long distance love, move from New york to be with me in Oregon. If its real you guys will make it happen!!!!

From what you stated..sounds like he just doesn't have the guts to say he wants out...at least for the time...maybe the distance IS too hard for him to handle...Maybe set it so that when you come home..you "date each other" and while you're away...you see other people..absense does make the heart grow fonder...

Well it would be best for you two to be friends for now... if he is not sure if he wants to be on a long distance relationship is for a reason.

Ummm... well if he is telling you he dont know if he wants to stay in it. Either he thinks you are cheating on him. Or he has his eye on another girl. My best quess would be to leave him.... Its a lot easier to get over if you call it off. Besides if it was ment to be when you come back home for good. You guys can hit it off again. =)
