There's absolutely nothing in this Universe that can be directly attributed to having God's involvment in its existence. He'll NEVER give a single piece of evidence that says He does exist, and neither will anything come into reality that says He doesn't.

The Bible can't be used as proof of His existence, and neither can evolution and other such natural processes be used as proof of His nonexistence.

And why do so many people think that the discovery of intelligent alien life will suddenly disprove God?

In answer to your first question, because people keep asking questions, but don't like the answers. To your second question, I haven't heard that said, but I can't imagine how that would disprove God. In response to the rest of your post, it never ceases to amaze me when I look at a tree, a glass of water, or a flower and think of how wonderfully put together these simple things are. How come man is so smart, yet he can't create water? He knows what it's made of, yet can't create it. Actually, man can't create anything, because to create something, you have to have an idea that's not already been thought, then make the item with just your thoughts. You wouldn't be the creator if you used what was already here, and added something else to it to come up with something else. You'd have to get your own material, and not steal from what's already created. That's what God did. He thought about something, and there it was. Yes, quite fantastic. Yet it takes more faith to believe that everything got here by accident than to believe in Gods way. With Gods way, you don't have to strain yourself into trying to figure out all the angles, in order to be comfortable with your results, which then another scientist will come and blow out of the water. I've seen this happen over and over through the years. Scientists will get so excited over their "discovery", change all the textbooks, then they'll "discover" that their "theory" was wrong, and have to readjust everything, even our kids textbooks. It's to the point where you don't know what they're gonna be finding out next, changing everything you thought was true. I'm tired of it. God doesn't change. What He said thousands of years ago still holds true today. A hundred years ago, scientists said that the places mentioned in the Bible didn't exist. Yet we now know that archaeologists have dug these cities up, and lo and behold, they do exist! Wow! And it's not up to me or anyone else to prove God. That's up to Him. I'm just the messenger. <*)))><

Just to answer your initial question, people on the two sides try to disprove or prove the existence of God because if they can do that, then the other side loses and they win. I mean think about it. The argument is: Is there a God?.....so to prove or disprove you have to find an existence of it.

your other statements are right too. To know God means you have FAITH that God exists not necessarily PROOF.

This is an excellent question. I just think we are stuck in a world that is inhabited by busy-bodies. People seem to think that whatever they do, think and believe (or don't believe) is something they should pontificate to everyone else. I don't get it.

I think it's great if you have religion and it works for you. If you feel you get some benefit from being a Christian or an Atheist, more power to you. But why are you trying to convince me to lose myself and come to your beliefs? I know, for the Christians it is about saving souls. I can appreciate that. But I think the best way to do that is to be an example of a Christ-like person in your every day life. I know plenty of so-called Christians who do and say nasty things and then try to get me to hop on the "God-wagon".

As for the Atheists, I'm not really sure why they feel the need to tell the Christians they are wrong.

Sometimes, I think it's better just to know in your heart that you're right (on either side)...and who cares what anyone else thinks?

Just one girls' opinion.

The Bible says that it is Gods word.
If the Bible is true, then there is a God.

The Bible tells us a little of what life was like before the flood, and it tells us what happened during the flood.

The Bible says that man and dinosaurs (called dragon, Levitation, Behemoth and unicorn) lived together. There are a number of places around the world (several in the U.S.) were there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock.

This is just one example of how the Bible is proven true and evolution is a lie (except micro evolution, that is a science) and must be taken by faith and not science.

In a way I think you are right. As hard as people try, using logic will never prove the supernatural, and neither will it disprove the supernatural. This is why it is supernatural. The only way for us to come to a realization of God is through him revealing himself, and this we can only pray for.

People who want to believe try to prove, those who don't want to believe try to disprove. If you want to live a life that you know God condemns, it would make sense that you would try to prove He wasn't real. That makes sense doesn't it? It tends to make for biased results though.
On the other hand I know a few science minded people who didn't believe and set out to disprove God and ended up becoming believers. I've only ever heard of one person who knew God and then changed her mind.
IMO, experience is the proof of God. When I am able to do something by relying on Him that I can't do alone, that is obvious proof to me. God asks for our faith, and then He shows Himself. Ask Him yourself to prove He is real to you.

I expect its because everybody wants to be right. Its a power thing. Never even thought about religion till i started coming on here, and it doesn't come up in everyday life. Its affected my views now though.

It's a timewasting activity trying to prove or disprove any god's existence.
